Crushed LECA (Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate) is a versatile, organic-free growing medium made from fired clay that has been broken into smaller, irregular fragments. Unlike standard round LECA pebbles, the crushed version offers increased surface area and better root contact, making it a popular choice for specialized mixes, especially for Aroids.

Common Uses & Ratios

• Bonsai Soil: Often mixed with Peat Moss in a 70/30 ratio for most trees.
• Aroid Mixes: Can be mixed with Peat soil / Perlite / Vermiculite (60/20/10) to promote strong root growth for Aroids. Mix in about 10-20% crushed leca to the total mix.
• Succulents & Cacti: Smaller sizes (2–4mm) are recommended for mixing into potting soil to ensure fast drainage.
