This is an exceptionally elegant and beautiful indoor plant, and one of the best hard-to-find or rare indoor plants. The broad heart-shaped leaves have prominent silver or grayish-white patches that give this plant its name Silver-leaf. Another common name for this variety is Brandi Philodendron.

Light:

Best in medium light but can tolerate bright light and some degree of shade. Avoid direct sunlight, as this may scorch the plant.

Watering:

Keep the soil moist at all times. Allow the top of the soil to dry-out slightly before re-watering. Will tolerate some degree of drought better than having its roots too wet.

Temperature:

Philodendron brandtianum will do best in average temperatures. This can range between 18°C to as high as 35°C.

Humidity:

The Brandtianum will do fine in normal home humidity, but thrives in more humid environments. High humidity will increase the growth rate and help the plant have larger foliage. The indoor humidity level should be kept between 50-60%.Consider giving your Philodendron brandtianum an occasional misting for best results.

Feed:

Apply a weak solution of liquid fertiliser two or three times during the growing season.

Height & Growth Rate:

The Sweetheart Plant is a fast-growing, vigorous climber which typically reaches an ultimate height of anything up to 1.2 to 1.5m. Trim as required.

Toxicity:

Philodendron are poisonous to humans and animals if ingested. All philodendrons contain a toxic substance called calcium oxalate.

Air Purifying:

Filters airborne toxins such as such as trichloroethylene and benzene from the atmosphere and are part of our clean air plant collection.

Origin:

This gorgeous plant, like all philodendrons, hails from the deep jungles and rainforests of South America, mainly in the areas of Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia.
