The Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula) is a carnivorous plant native to the bogs of North and South Carolina. Its mouth-like leaves makes it the most iconic of all carnivorous plants.
This plant thrives in bright, indirect sunlight and can tolerate periods of direct sunlight.
Keep it permanently wet. Place the plants in a 1-3 cm saucer filled with fresh water to remain moist at all times. For long-term healthy growth, stick to rainwater, distilled or deionised water.
